Work from Anywhere with DroneDeploy

During this period of uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand many organizations are requiring their employees to work remotely. These circumstances can produce a whole new set of challenges for business, and we at DroneDeploy want you to know we’re here to help. With in-app comment streams, downloadable data, and quick email sharing, we can provide your business with the operational agility it needs during these unpredictable times. Whether you’re in the oil & gas industry, construction, agriculture, mining, or beyond, we’ll detail our top features for communicating with teams working remotely.

The Inspection Workflow

When collaborating cross-functionally, one of the best tools to use is the Inspection Workflow. Think of this as the communication hub for your team. Here, you can streamline conversations between team members and increase the visibility of next-steps. After completing your map or 3D model, users can tag other teammates in-app using the @mentions feature and assign them to a problem. The selected user will receive email notification of the @mention and can then log in to the DroneDeploy app to respond or close-out the issue. Even better, comments refresh in real-time, so users receive up-to-the-minute, accurate feedback.

Simple Data Sharing

Data sharing is available in-app or through downloadable reports via email. To share your results with a client or a stakeholder, add them as a teammate to your project. Find the results inside your project by selecting the “Team” button and entering the appropriate email address. From here, your new team member will receive a link through an email to join.

You can also share individual reports or maps with people outside your organization. After navigating to the Explore page, select the date of the map you’d like to send, and click “Share” at the bottom of the screen. This will provide you with a link to send to whomever you’d like. If this person is a DroneDeploy user, they’ll be able to interact with your map, create measurements and annotations, and view layers. If they are not, they’ll see a basic, view-only version of your map. The same goes for sharing reports. For additional help on this, read our step-by-step guide on data sharing.

Endless Integrations

DroneDeploy’s App Market has numerous integrations, some of which are free, to aid in your operations as well. Some of the most popular are Procore, Bluebeam, and Autodesk BIM 360. These programs have dedicated sharing features that can be beneficial to your organization if other stakeholders are not currently using DroneDeploy.

For additional assistance, we have dedicated customer support staff at your disposal, trained in all aspects of DroneDeploy software, and equipped with knowledge of your plan type. They’re available from 9 AM - 5:30 PM PST.

While we’re unsure of how long this period of social distancing will continue, DroneDeploy pledges to help your organizations conduct business through these difficult junctures. Tools like the Inspection Workflow, Live Map, and multiple integrations minimize the number of team members needed to perform a task and limit the number of people on-site. Not only does this optimize operations, but it ultimately makes your job sites safer. If you’re interested in using these tools, begin your free trial, or contact us directly for tailored onboarding.
